And 2022’s fashion shows are back in full swing! As we begin this year’s showcases around the world, Harrogate Fashion Week returned for another jam-packed weekend!
Harrogate, a Victorian spa town, is located less than 20 miles north of Leeds and boasts itself as an area of natural beauty.
Flocking from around the world, fashion brands displayed their spring/summer collections for all ages and fashion styles.
After a 15 year hiatus of fashion events in Harrogate, the fashion week returned with a bang in 2018 after many buying events moved to Birmingham.
Harrogate Fashion Week made it’s come back in Summer 2021, after the Covid-19 pandemic paused all in person events, with hope to uplift the fashion industry after a damaging time.
The set up looked slightly different than it did a year previously to the event, as the convention centre was used for a Nightingale Hospital during the peak times of the pandemic.

One popular aspect of the event was the Mother of the Bride dresses. Harrogate has a strong history of fashion shows, hosting the shows for more than 30 years. Bridal Week, hosted in Autumn, presents the largest collection of bridal gowns in Northern Europe! Occasion brands including John Charles showcased their latest releases intime for the height of wedding season.

Jaylee Collection, 2021
Planet Fashion, 2021
Speaking of hiatuses, one fashion brand, Jaylee Collection, channelled inner Harry Styles “Love on Tour” styles, celebrating bright colours and bold patterns.
From sustainable brands, occasion wear to on-trend clothing, the fashion week showcased a vast range of styles. Specialising in jeans to fascinators, there wasn’t a brand that wasn’t interesting, such as Anna Montana (no, it’s not Hannah Montana that you’re thinking about) and Failsworth who have 119 years under their belt!

Pom Amsterdam, 2022
Founded by two sisters, Pom Amsterdam presented their new collections across the two days. The brand promotes female empowerment and “unique femininity” within their designs with the aim that women can express their personality through clothing. The products channel nature vibes with bright colourful repeating patterns living up to their brand values!
So is it worth the visit? Definitely! You can’t beat the buzz and excitement of new collections and styles. Who doesn’t want to discover new fashion brands?!
And, you don’t even need to wait until 2023 to visit Harrogate Fashion Week. The next event is this summer, 31st July – 1st August! Find out more information here.
